With the bank holidays of May fast approaching and more excitedly WARMER days, it's important to remember that your hair care routine should also change with each season.

Summer usually includes sun, salt water and chlorine. And just like making sure we protect our skin, our hair needs the same TLC.

We spend a lot of money on our hair - whether it's regular trims, colour maintenance, hair extensions and the up keep, hair products, or all of the above. But many of us forget to protect our hair in the summer.

Here are our top tips to protect your hair in the summer months.

  • Use Sulphate-free Shampoo and Conditioner - harsh chemicals dry out and dull hair colour

  • Invest in a Hair Mask - use once a week to put moisture back into the hair

  • Grab the UV Protection Spray - protection against the damaging rays

  • Wear Caps or Hats - protects the hair and scalp

  • Pop on Leave-in Conditioner before heading into the water - acts like a barrier

  • Always wash your hair after swimming to clean the hair of chemicals and environmental damage.

  • If you're blonde use a purple shampoo to keep the brassiness at bay

  • Use Natural Oils - it strengthen and protect your hair as well prevents scalp from getting dry and itchy

Sun damage can cause your hair to dry out and look dull so it's very important to get into a good hair care routine.
